LIPOSUCTION
You Are a Candidate if:
| • |
You have excess subcutaneous fat that is resistant to diet and exercise. |
| • |
You wish to change the contours of your body. Commonly involved areas are the anterior part of the neck (under the chin), torso, abdomen, waist, hips, thighs and inner knees. |
| • |
You are a male with enlarged breasts (gynecomastia). |
Intended Result
| • |
An improvement in the contour and proportion of the treated areas. |
| • |
A more flattering figure or physique.
|
| • |
Clothing that fits better. |
Procedure
| • |
The procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia or using I.V. Sedation (twilight sleep) in our AAAASF certified surgical facility. |
| • |
Small suction tubes (cannulas) are inserted through very small incisions placed in inconspicuous locations near the fat deposits and excess fat is removed. |
Recuperation and Healing
| • |
The patient is sent home in a surgical compression garment or girdle. This compression garment is usually worn for the first 3 weeks, as it helps reduce swelling and helps you achieve the final result more quickly. |
| • |
Initial discomfort is easily controlled with oral medications. |
| • |
Bruising and swelling generally subside within two to four weeks. The final result takes shape over three to six months. |
| • |
Ultrasound and/or massage treatments may be recommended after surgery to help smooth the results. |
Other Options
| • |
Additional procedures that may enhance the result are a Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty), Breast Reduction, Breast Lift (Mastopexy) and/or Breast Enlargement (Augmentation). |
